Options for lunch

Food truck battles everyday! I love that DTLA has many lunch options to pick from.

The moat

The moat at Los Angeles Department Water & Power. If you take the time to look at DTLA in a different perspective you'll see there are so many iconic buildings. History and making history.

Game over!

Imagine the owner's face when he wanted to ride his bike back home. Spotted this bike if you can call it a bike anymore. The harsh realities of life. Tough luck. FML! Life Sucks! Never going to get ahead. Hand to mouth. Surviving and tolerating this cruel world. You can come up with a whole bunch of negatives. Well you can make this experience positive. Breathe in deep and let it all go. Time for change. Time to get a clean start. The time is now to make a change. Start fresh. Improve yourself. A sign from God saying to stop your old ways and time to do things differently. Sometimes it takes several doors slammed in your face before you get the right doors opening up. What motivates you? Do something that you enjoy....you only live once! Love writing about your hobbies, experiences, or your trips all from home like I do Click Here! If writing isn't your thing and you just want to chill at home Click Here! Of course most people will only do it when the door slams in their face and they don't have any other options. In hindsight, I wish the door slammed in my face sooner....or maybe it was just the right time since these opportunities didn't exist before.

I finally have taken the Gold Line from APU to Union Station. Took me about an hour and 10 minutes to get to my job. Not bad. Better than driving in traffic. The bad part is on the way home. Took about 1 hour and 30 minutes to get to APU station...not to my house which is another 10 minutes of driving. I take the Red line to Union Station. I have to wait about 5 minutes while the train comes. At Union Station, I wait anywhere between 5-15 minutes for the gold line. I like the idea of not having to rely on my car. However, time is money. Public transportation does take longer than if you were driving your own car. Keep in mind when you do drive you are paying for wear and tear on your car that people don't think about. People usually only think about gas. How about the mental aspect? Stress! Over time you will feel it. There are higher chances of you being in an accident if you drive daily. So if you don't have to be somewhere after work like pick up the kids from daycare before 6pm (the time crunch alone can be very stressful when taking public transportation). Unfortunately, for my piece of mind I will be driving my own car for now. Get paid to write!

Grand Park LA and Starbucks

I love my morning walk at Grand Park. The seducing smell of coffee from Starbucks makes me want to get my favorite hot cup of vanilla latte. Morning, afternoon, and evening Grand Park is a great place to stretch out your legs from sitting at your desk in front of your computer all day long. Of course some coffee will help too!

Los Angeles City Hall

Today as I was walking around DTLA, I realized that my favorite building looks beautiful at all angles. If you were to visit DTLA you would realize that every shot you get of it is a great one. A modern day marvel. It is classy and historical. Yet it doesn't get old. What is interesting right now is the vacant lot that is next to it. Will it be some overbearing building that might hide my favorite landmark? Or will it be an expansion to Grand Park. I think it is wishful thinking that it might be a park. DTLA is constantly changing. If interested this book shows some awesome landmarks and interesting facts about DTLA. Downtown Los Angeles: A Walking Guide Check it out!

Some of the greatest movies and music videos have been used at many DTLA landmarks. I hope to share some with you as well as a brief fact or two about each place. To get me motivated without any doubt that this blog will be successful I have posted my first picture. This sign is at Grand Park LA. If you are walking around in this park see if you can find this sign. And repost your own photo of it.
